Core Working Hour Demands at RRC
Welcome the Railroad Commission of Texas – Watchdog blog site!
There have been recent changes at this agency concerning mandated staggered working hours and flextime allowances that affects all employees and will ultimately have a detrimental impact on those who come in contact with Commission personnel. I say this due to the diminishing moral and attitude of all staff members at this agency. Previous policy of allowing employees to work 8-hours a day around their individual job responsibilities and personal life demands has now been terminated. The Commissioners, in their infinite wisdom, now dictate that all agency employees will work from 8:00 a.m. thru 5:00 p.m. More or less. The exception to any structured hourly work routine is the three Commissioners and their respective staff. Proof of this can be verified by observing the Commissioners empty reserved parking spaces till 10:00 a.m. (+-) on any given work day. Why must the employees tolerate this abuse of power? Who will speak for agency personnel? How will we change this policy? Your suggestions and comments would be greatly appreciated.
