   this is the most outlandish thing these morons have done. lately! i worked 7 to 4 for the past 10 years! i routinely arrived at work early, around 6:30 and take only 30 minutes for lunch. i was giving the rrc an extra hour a day or 20 hours a month. not any more. they were getting 240 hours a year in solid productivity, that’s 6 weeks pay! and and i didn’t get a dime. mr. commissioner, you can kiss my hairy butt!.

   I too must come into work early and I’m not compensated for my time and efforts. The reason is that I can’t afford a car and must ride the bus from out of town to arrive on time for work. The bus schedules are such that there are no other times available to get into the office. I think the Commissioners are very inconsiderate and not thinking of those less fortunate than they are. If I could affort a car as nice as theirs and had a private parking space, I would not complian. This new mandatory work schedule is not a good thing. They don’t seem to care about working with the employees. I don’t know what I’ll do.

   THEY CAN’T DO THIS TO US! SCREW THEM SUMABITCHES! I’VE BEEN WORKING 7 TO 4 AT THE RRC FOR 14 YEARS AND NO ONE COMPLAINED. I SAY WE GO ON STRIKE! LET’S BOYCOTT! SCREWM!

   Well it is almost tragic. Within the RRC employee handbook there is a section on the retention of professionals, that describes the use of flex time to attract and retain RRC employees, since payscale is so low.

   Also, in the Clean Air Texas Partneraship section on the RRC, which RRC is a particpant, it is stated the RRC will use flex time for the majority of its employees to help cut down air emissions at peak load periods (7:30-8:00 AM & 5:00-6:00 PM). It will be interesting to see the impact of dumping 300-400 extra vhehicles on the main arteries of Austin at this time. It may be just enough to kick Austin into non-attainement, not to mention the extra load to law enforcement & EMS.

   I feel the Comissioneers or thier aids are not just acting vindictive and hateful, but are rather ill asdvised on this seemingly illogical decision. It appears this will harm the RRC for years to come.

   I recommend you contact the Texas Employees Union,-AFL-CIO here in Austin. I am afraid this decision by the Commissioneers is going to swell the ranks of this Union. The Union rep has already mentioned it may go before the Legislature on this one, but [they] need members from the RRC.

   Correction, thats Texas State Employees Union CWA 6186 and it is part of the AFL-CIO, phone, (512) 448 4225 a very powerful Union. Ask for Mike Groce, he is aware of this problem.

   I was passed over twice for promotions. My supervisor indicates that I take too many smoke breaks and need to focus on projecting a more professional and positive image. I feel that the commissioners could do more to foster a loving [and] caring work environment that nurtures employees and their careers.

   Dear John: Them are mighty harsh words for our duly elected Railroaded Commissioners. We should try to work with this Republican Regime rather against them. Inciting a strike or organizing a boycott would do little good to change things and would not endear employees with management. Perhaps a ‘Work Slow’ method of retaliation would have an effect on policy. I don’t think anyone would notice but what are your feelings?
